Cookstove ProjectWe had a wonderful presentation this past Wed Sept 29, 2021! The Cookstove Project's goal is to prevent the eeaths and diseases that are caused by cooking indoors over an open fire. Our Club will be making a contribution to this very important project. For $199 you can provide enough clean cookstoves for ten families.

Another example of folks making a difference. Many of our club members have them on display. We are also supporting local restaurants that are sending free meals to workers in surrounding hospitals. In addition some members are making nurse headbands to ease the stress of the masks that pull on their ears.

Free Narcan Presentation/TrainingA Narcan Presentation/Training that no one should miss, was sponsored by the Oradell Emerson Rotary this past Thursday Jan 16, 2020 at River Dell High School and presented by Caroline Bailey. Caroline's first hand story as a recovering addict and the importance of the use of Narcan to save lives was "Heart Wrenching". Each attendee went home with a free Narcan Kit and first hand instructions on its use.

Pedestrian Flag Initiative - A Great SuccessThe Oradell-Emerson Rotary has spearheaded and totally funded this initiative. There are 7 targeted locations approved by the Oradell PD and numerous business owners have financially helped us to fund this program. Rotary Donation to Oradell Public School This fall the Oradell-Emerson Rotary partnered with the Oradell PTA to sponsor a Wizard's Basketball game with over 700 paid attendees. A great time was had by all and our share of the profits $3000 was donated to the Oradell Public School for audio visual aids equipment and for the future renovation of the school auditorium.

Eco-Cruise Meeting with the Hackensack Riverkeeper August 15Come join us for an incredible journey on the Hackensack River, through the marshes of the New Jersey Meadowlands, and more! Eco-Cruises are fun, educational tours aboard Hackensack Riverkeeper’s specially rigged 30-foot pontoon boats. Captain Bill Sheehan started Eco-Cruises in 1994 to increase awareness of the lower Hackensack River as a vital natural and recreational resource. Most Eco-Cruises include 2 ½ hours on the water and are fully narrated by either Capt. Bill or Program Director Capt. Hugh Carola – both of whom are US Coast Guard-licensed captains.The Oradell-Emerson Rotary will have a private cruise on August 15. |

Pat Schuber Speaks about Camp MerrittWilliam "Pat" Schuber, former Bergen County Executive and assistant professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, shared with us the story of Camp Merritt, the largest embarkation camp in the U.S. during WWI, located right here in Bergen County. The talk was just fascinating; Pat is a terrific speaker and his passion for the history of Bergen County is infectious. Thank you, Pat! We had a wonderful evening.
